This past weekend, the UFC held three events in seven days. That’s a lot of action in such a short span of time, especially with a handful of top fighters taking part.
The most notable fight was Dustin Poirier’s rematch with Conor McGregor. The first fight ended early with a TKO win for McGregor, but this time around it went the distance with Poirier getting the better of McGregor. Poirier got the win via unanimous decision, and he clearly won the bout thanks to his improved striking and defense against McGregor’s power strikes.
It wasn’t just that fight that was exciting. In fact, it was the whole card that kept fans on the edge of their seats. That includes fights like Robert Whittaker vs Kelvin Gastelum, Cody Garbrandt vs Rob Font, and more!

The UFC 264 main event ended in epic fashion with Dustin Poirier defeating Conor McGregor via TKO in the second round.
Poirier came out aggressively in the first round, landing a body kick and a right hook before shooting for a takedown. McGregor stuffed the attempt and landed some punches of his own, but Poirier dropped ‘The Notorious’ with a right hook. McGregor got back to his feet and landed a straight left that appeared to daze Poirier before shooting for another takedown. McGregor was able to get Poirier down, but he immediately got back to his feet.
Poirier continued putting together combinations throughout the first round and even connected with a hard leg kick that brought McGregor down but didn’t injure him enough for him to not return to his feet once more. The two exchanged shots as the round came to an end.
After taking some damage in the first round, it looked as if McGregor was going to weather the storm and survive early as he opened up Round 2 with some powerful shots that hurt Poirier, including an uppercut followed by straight lefts against the cage. But Poirier fired back and dropped McGregor yet again after connecting with three big shots against the cage,

This weekend we had a huge fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier in their trilogy fight. The two were competing for the second time since 2014 in a fight that would be a huge stepping stone for both fighters careers.
The fight went on for about three rounds and was pretty much one-sided as Conor looked like he was going to knock Dustin out at any moment. We all know what happens when you give Conor McGregor too much time to think though, he is going to come up with something crazy and he did just that.
After knocking down Edgar, Conor jumped into the air and landed a flying knee that knocked him out cold. It was an awesome display of athleticism from both fighters but especially from Conor who was able to take advantage of his opponents weak moment.
Conor definitely has cemented himself as one of the best fighters in the UFC right now with this incredible performance and I’m excited to see where he goes next.
