MotoGP Crashes and Wrecks: A blog about the best motorcross racing results involving crashes.

As far back as World War I, motorcycle races were held on dirt surfaces like the board tracks that were popular at the time. The first official Grand Prix was in 1949, and it was held in the tiny principality of Monaco. It would be another ten years before the first championship points were awarded to American rider Gary Hocking, who was also the first rider to start a race from pole-position on a motorcycle.

By the late 1990s and early 2000s, MotoGP began to attract new sponsors and new manufacturers. The sport also saw an increase in track safety measures due to a number of high-profile deaths over the years. In 2004, Rossi won his second World Championship with Yamaha, and followed up with another win in 2005.

Pedrosa taking out Lorenzo in the last lap of the Jerez GP. This was some exciting racing, with Lorenzo passing Pedrosa, who then took him out on the next turn. Rossi had a great race, but ran out of gas at the end of the race (literally). Yamaha’s new bike is really taking shape… and Pedrosa should have been penalized as he did not even allow Lorenzo to get back on his bike.
