MLB Playoffs A Time For Redemption

The Major League Baseball post season has begun. The best part about the playoffs is that it’s a time for redemption. Everyone gets a fresh start, and teams can make up for mistakes they made in the regular season.

The Boston Red Sox had the best regular season record in baseball this year, but that doesn’t mean much once the post season begins. In 2004, the Red Sox lost to their rivals, the New York Yankees, in a dramatic seven game series after being down 3-0 in the series. The Red Sox then went on to win the World Series against St. Louis Cardinals. The Red Sox are looking to defend their title against a tough opponent in the Tampa Bay Rays, who won 91 games this season. This will be one of many great matchups in this years playoffs.

To the outside world, Major League Baseball’s playoffs are a spectacle of red, white and blue. It’s the time of year where beards are grown and teams gather in their clubhouses to sip champagne together. To a baseball player however, the playoffs are an opportunity for redemption.

For every player who steps off a plane in October with a ticket punched to the MLB playoffs, there is an inner drive to succeed. Each team that makes it into the postseason has something they want to prove. For some, it’s proving they belong in the postseason after years of failure. For others, it’s proving they still have what it takes to make another deep run into late October. And for those lucky few, it’s proving they can go all the way.

In 2018, 18 teams will enter the postseason with hopes of taking home a World Series title. But only one team will be able to do that when it is all said and done. With so many storylines going into this year’s postseason run, here are three of the biggest ones that you should keep your eyes on as we head toward Halloween:

The MLB playoffs are an exciting time of year for baseball fans. The games are fast-paced, the stakes are high, and a team’s fortunes can change in a matter of minutes. Rarely, however, do you see a team go from worst to first in one season. Last year’s World Series champions, the Houston Astros, did just that. After a disappointing 2017 season and an early exit in last year’s playoffs, the Astros were hoping to redeem themselves in this year’s playoffs.

In Game 1 of the American League Division Series (ALDS) on October 5th, 2018, against their opponent the Cleveland Indians, Houston was off to a rocky start. Due to some poor pitching by Houston starter Justin Verlander, Cleveland took an early 2-0 lead after just three innings had been played. It looked like it would be another disappointing season for Houston – that is until George Springer stepped up to the plate with two runners on base in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Springer came through big time for his team when he blasted a three-run home run over the left field wall to give Houston their first lead of the game at 3-2. From there on out it was all Astros as they went on to win the game 7-2

The 2018 MLB Playoffs are set to begin on Tuesday, October 2nd.

The Milwaukee Brewers, who won the NL Central, will take on the Colorado Rockies, who won the Wild Card Game on Monday night. The Rockies will have their hands full with a Brewer team excelled in pitching and hitting.

In the other NLDS the Atlanta Braves will take on the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium in LA. The Braves come in as a young team who just made it into the playoffs for the first time since 2013. They will be taking on a Dodger team that has been in the playoffs five years straight.

In the ALDS matchup, there is a matchup of two 100-win teams in the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. The Red Sox had one of their best seasons ever, winning 108 games and clinching home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Yankees took second place in the AL East this year, but still managed to win 100 games for only the second time in franchise history.

The final ALDS matchup is between two division rivals who faced off last year in Houston Astros and Cleveland Indians. The Indians had nothing to play for after clinching an AL Central title with weeks remaining in the season, while Houston had one of their best

The 2018 MLB playoffs started this past Tuesday, and a total of 5 games were played. The American League division series (ALDS) saw two division rivals, the Oakland Athletics and New York Yankees, play each other in a best of five series. The 2018 National League division series (NLDS) saw a rematch between the Colorado Rockies and Milwaukee Brewers, while the Atlanta Braves took on the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Both NLDS series went to a decisive game 5. On one hand you had the Milwaukee Brewers, who had an incredible season but struggled in the playoff race against their division rival Chicago Cubs. On the other hand you had the Colorado Rockies, who got into the playoffs as a Wild Card team and are looking for redemption for last year’s NLDS loss to Arizona. Meanwhile, in Atlanta, the Braves faced off against Max Muncy and the Los Angeles Dodgers in a matchup of rookie managers Brian Snitker and Dave Roberts.

The other three ALDS games featured intense matchups between Yankees and Athletics, Red Sox and Indians, and Astros and Indians. Many people are expecting exciting matchups from all these teams just like last year.

With only four teams left in the MLB, this is the time of year that many people start to get excited, as we are now in playoff season. The Boston Red Sox will face off against the Houston Astros, while the Los Angeles Dodgers look to take on the Milwaukee Brewers. These are the last four teams standing, and each of them have a similar goal of winning it all.

The Astros have not had a great post-season thus far, but have managed to win their last two games. The Red Sox have been playing well during these playoffs, and hope to continue their success. The Astros won the World Series last year, so they know what it takes to win a championship.

The Dodgers also won their division during the regular season, so they will be looking for a repeat performance. However, they have had some struggles this year during the playoffs. They hope to turn things around in order to come away with a victory.

The Brewers are coming off of an impressive regular season as well, but have not been playing well in these playoffs. They hope to turn things around with a victory over LA.

The MLB Division Series matchups are set, and there will be plenty of competition on all fronts. There will be many teams out for revenge, as well as some surprises that are making their first postseason appearances in years. The action kicks off with the Atlanta Braves taking on the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium at 5:37 PM ET on Thursday. This will be followed by the Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies at 3:07 PM ET on Thursday at Coors Field. The American League Division Series (ALDS) will begin on Friday with the Cleveland Indians and Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park at 2:05 PM ET, followed by the Boston Red Sox playing against their longtime rivals, the New York Yankees, at Fenway Park in Boston at 7:32 PM ET.

The National League West has been a very competitive division all year long, but it was ultimately won by the Dodgers for a sixth straight season. The Dodgers have struggled to make it past the NLCS over these past few years, but have faith that this year will be different now that they have their ace pitcher, Clayton Kershaw back from injury.

The Rockies had a slow start to their season but picked up steam towards the end of it, finishing second in their division behind the Dodgers with a 91
