The Atlanta Hawks (27-21) will attempt to keep their Eastern Conference playoff hopes alive when they host the Indiana Pacers (19-30) on Tuesday night at Philips Arena.
The Hawks are currently in ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings, one game behind the Chicago Bulls, who hold the No. 8 seed. The Hawks have won three of their last four games, while the Pacers have lost five of their last six.
Atlanta has a bit of an edge over Indiana as far as injuries are concerned, with only point guard Jeff Teague and forward DeMarre Carroll listed as questionable for Tuesday’s matchup. Forwards Paul Millsap and Pero Antic are both expected to return after sitting out Sunday’s victory over the Miami Heat with a sprained ankle and an illness, respectively.

The Hawks were one of the hottest teams in the NBA heading into the All-Star break and it looked like they were going to make a push for the playoffs. Instead, since then they have been one of the worst teams in the league.
They have lost their last three games by an average of 16 points, including a 112-86 loss against the Chicago Bulls this past Saturday.
“We’ve just got to find a way to compete,” Hawks guard Kyle Korver recently said. “We’ve got to figure out how to come back and be ready to play.”
Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer, who is a Gregg Popovich disciple, has seen his team fall apart down the stretch and is trying everything he can to fix it. He even resorted to switching his lineup up before last week’s loss against Boston.
“I think we’re at a point where we need something new,” Budenholzer said before the game. “It’s not that things aren’t going well or we need some kind of drastic change, but I’m trying some different lineups and some different combinations tonight.”
